Hello...have not posted for a while...but am missing the support.

I have 3 boys with ADHD & Asperger's Syndrome. (ages 11, 13 & 16)

I have OCD (though am sure i have AS too)

My husband is a recovering gambing addict.

Our life fluctuates between Organised & DisOrganised Chaos.

The highlights of my weeks so far are me managing to spray my hanging baskets with weedkiller instead of greenfly spray.
And, washing our sofa cushions 6 days ago...a nd they are still not dry...and are starting to stink.

Good to be back in the secure arms on SN mumsnet!

Nice to see you Mrs F . You were here when I first joined MN and gave me some good advice (as did coppertop, TC and 2shoes) so it's lovely to have you back.

LOL at the laminating ideas!!!!

This week...washed each settee cushion 1 by 1 in my 8kg washing machine... then dried each one for 3hrs each in tumble dryer...involving repositioning every 2omins or so!!!!

so have had a thrilling 2 weeks...however...the 4 cushions i washed are looking clean...and smell ok...and are dry at last....but theres still 2 more that did not get washed at all. They look black in comparison!

(can't admit anywhere else on MN about how hard it is to have anything clean and smelling nicely...when you have 3 ASD kids...who are always spilling drinks...trailing chocolate over seats... yes.... like my mum keeps telling me....i shouldn't let them eat on the sofas....
however...as many of you know...when theres ASD etc.... some 'normal' house rules just don't apply.
(i cannot sit all 3 of mine at the dinnertable unsupervised...so when push comes to shove... to ensure meals get eaten... 1 sits in kitchen (talking to me)...1 at dining table (using laptop)... and 1 sits in lounge (watching TV)

Then they ALL eat a PROPER meal....so though i know we are supposed to sit nicely round the table...it doen't work well here....
so i end up with food spills on my sofa....but also a child that has eaten well.

Hello there, my sofa is due for a wash too, putting it off until we get a dry spell, talking of which my cabbages have all exploded due to too much rain GRRR.

TotalChaos · 15/07/2010 22:19

we also have child/food/sofa issues - need to bite the bullet and machine wash the cover. I investigated a wipe clean cover but would have been £200 even for non leather, grrr

maybe we should laminate the sofas????
