any suggestions how to motivate him.
being dyslexic I can understand he does not like writing much but at school he sometimes does not pay attention to what's going on in the class , basically he is not motivated to do any work by himself until he is given any help.
but his teachers wants him to start his work and she is very helpful and happy to give support .
any ideas how can I help him to motivate himself

Has the school offered to help with an IEP and extra support from staff? Sounds like they should be giving extra hours to your ds.

One of mine is not dyslexic but struggled to learn to read, so we used the "Toe-by-Toe" book. It helped, maybe from the one-to-one time with me as much as any technical help from the book.
