After a year of fighting the LEA I have finally got a placement for my son in the Special Needs school that I wanted named on his statement.

I removed him from mainstream last January, as he was alarmingly showing he could not cope, and decided until a placement was granted in the local Special Needs school I would HE. I had to fight for a Statement, of which was refused to even assess to begin with. Then after that battle, had to then battle for the correct educational placement.....the LEA thought local primary and secondary was fine!! After 162 emails, 210 letters (LEA, LOCAL MP, DOCTORS, SCHOOLS ETC ETC), and documentation gathered for tribunal, I have finally been listened too, It has finally been understood by the LEA that my DS needs the Special Provision, he starts after the school hols!!!!

I would like to sincerely thank all of you who took the time, and had the kindness to give advice, draft letters etc etc...... without this support I do not think I would have been able to do this.xxxx.

To those of you who may be going through this traumatic ordeal, there is light at the end of the tunnel.....be strong, take all the help and advice you can get, and fight for your child xxxxxxx
