dd(4) has speech problems caused by severe Glue ear which was treated with grommets 6 months ago. At playgroup she had informal access to a SALT on a monthly basis. She then started in reception in September and since then has had no SALT impact. She was assessed in the last few weeks and the school have no told me that she will start seeing a SALT after christmas (20 mins a week, or was it 20 mins a month?) - anyway, the teacher also mentioned in passing an IEP. My ears pricked up at this as I believe that if she has an IEP we should then have regular meetings to review the IEP etc.
What are the 'rights' attached to having an IEP? Also I read somewhere that if she is having outside input (eg a SALT) she is automatically on School Action Plus rather than school Action?
Basically I'm asking, what are my right? and what do I need to be pushing for that probably won't be offered unless I shout for it?
Thanks.
