Options for an autistic P5 child struggling to attend school in Scotland

We are based in Scotland and daughter is 9, in p5. She is autistic but academically able, struggles are mainly communication and social. Due to these she is struggling to attend school and regularly melting down at drop off. This has been going on for a while, school have tried various things but nothing has really helped, and has made the social situation worse as the other kids, understandably, don't really know what to make of her.

We think she could do with trying a fresh start at a new school or home ed and moving to online school (she wants to be part of a school). But are there other alternatives? From what I know for LCRs I don't think they are the place for her either even if we could get a place. Any suggests for online school for primary age?

Are you looking for an online school that follows the Scottish education model or would one which runs on the English system work? It is also worth thinking about what type of online school you would want e.g. do you want one with live lessons or not. And are you looking to self fund or are you looking for one that can be funded?

If there are alternatives will depend where in Scotland you are, I think. (Not asking you to disclose.)

If you haven’t already, it is worth speaking to Enquire.

There is only one online school which follows the Scottish curriculum which you need to be referred to and is funded (esgoil or something like that) which I believe is a years wait at best which I don't see her managing plus aim to return to mainstream which I don't see happening either so will need to be self funded and the English system. Have spoken to enquire they have all the guidance but doesn't look like there is any alternatives (know we don't have section 21 orders or eotas)

For online schools using the English system, you could look at Kings Interhigh (not just high school provision), Wolsey Hall and Eureka Learning.

The Scottish online school is e-Sgoil and their i-Sgoil provision for those with disrupted learning.
