How long are DLA mandatory reconsiderations for SEN children taking currently?

Does anyone know how long dla mandatory reconsideration is taking right now? Son has had highest rate care and mobility for over ten years and it was cut to low rate mobility in March. At what time frame do i chase? 25 weeks? Thanks

They are all taking a very long time. 22-25 weeks. I would wait until 25 weeks before chasing.

Jeez... they managed to turn the renewal round in one week to cut his levels. In the meantime I have lost his blue badge. Good job I didn't get a mobility car. This confirms all my fears about the mobility scheme.

I was told today that I'd loss the car the day I lost the award. Is that true? Makes my 12 year old car look a great alternative.

You can apply for a blue badge and be assessed separately. HRM automatically qualifies for a blue badge but you can still apply and be assessed without.

Motabilty often allow you to keep the vehicle whilst going through MR. Even when they don’t wait the whole time, it isn’t on the day.

Hi, just abit of advice really, my MR was sent in june, I had a decision maker call me yesterday regarding some more information about my daughter's NG tube, he then called me 2 hours later to confirm bank details. Has anyone had this before?

My MR didn't take too long. Nothing was changed so im waiting for appeal details. Its been a long time since lodging appeal and hearing nothing accept receipt of appeal. I need to chase it up. I'm really surprised I didn't win the mandatory reconsideration. My sons needs are so severe.

I didn't think my dd award was correct either but quite frankly couldn't be doing with a appeal for her. She meets hig need for HRC but im only going appeal for my son. He is never going to live independently. Im also never going to use his dla for mobility car. My friend keeps saying I should but this cements my thinking its not a good idea. All the extra costs of having someone who can not travel on public transport. We did get the blue badge again very quickly which again just makes me feel its not about his needs, its cutting costs. But the blue badge is real bonus to keep or to be honest I just wouldn't be so keen to take him anywhere. Its not impossible without the blue badge as he can physically walk. But the hassle and stress of parking and walking across a car park makes me feel so sick id rather just stay safe at home.
