My DD (9) is autistic and has significant sensory issues; one of the biggest issues is touch and texture. (And is very much interlinked with anxiety).
She struggles with most clothing and we have daily issues, can sometimes take an hour to get dressed, with lots of refusals, taking clothes off etc.
She (just about) tolerates a loose summer dress for school, three particular pairs of knickers (that we have to 'stretch' daily) and bamboo socks turned inside out.
The main issues are tight clothing and anything touching her legs (she also has daily 30-minute meltdowns over her bedcovers 'hurting' her legs and I have to readjust her covers 10-20 times).
At school last year she wore very loose jogging bottoms in the winter. However, the last time she wore trousers was probably Feb/March. I got her to try a pair (age 11-12 so pretty baggy!) on over the summer and she couldn't bear them and took them straight off.
Does anyone have any suggestions for when the weather gets colder? The other thing is temperature sensitivity - she absolutely hates being hot, but also too cold.
She struggles with EBSA, so I can absolutely see this being a big barrier.
