Hello,

My child seriously needs help and ive looked high and low.
on the edwin lobo waiting list since october 2023 he high masks as soon as he's out of the house and hurts me at home the school don't see the same child I have at home. He is highly intelligent could read at the age of 3 has high memory skills, obsessive behaviour and very controlling , gets very angry if he isn't the one in charge. He's only 5 and I hes gonna get bigger and stronger
The gp has now referred him to CAHMs for psychiatrist but she also told me its unlikely they'll help and social services for support . And to go private.. I cant afford that but my child does get dla and was wondering if I can use his money to pay for the private psychiatrist?

You can use the DLA if you want.

If CAMHS and social care refuse support, complain.

Does DS have an EHCP? A diagnostic assessment and general psychiatrist support is unlikely via section F of the EHCP, but more therapeutic support is possible via the section F. Section F is the easier section to enforce. Other health care support and social care support can be included in sections G & H, but it isn’t the same as section F provision.

He was denied an EHCP due to changing schools in summer holidays last year (preschool to reception) as the application went through so when he started they didnt have any evidence, he's been there a year now and they have a send plan in place but he's meeting all their goals apparently. Yet at home refuses to even put his shoes on , wont sit down for activities. Ive told them he is going to struggle in year 1. The only help school have said is to have a chat to parent talk; action for children. Again is no support for my son , I even done my own courses with qualifications to help him. Because of the lack of support oh and the psychiatrist assessment got him on a good day (he masked even more).

Sen has been recognised from 2 years old and 2 different preschools but not since he started primary

Request another EHCNA. Appeal if refused.
