Daughter is starting year 7 in September and was given a place at an independent Sen school.
she has conplex medical needs along side autism and communication disorder.
She didn’t get a place at any of the la maintained Sen schools who basically said she did not fit their cohort socially or academically. ( was too academic and social )
her attendance was bad at primary school due to significant life threatening health episodes some years only making it 18 percent of the time.
She is loving, kind a good friend. Follows routine and never in any trouble in school she is basically the ideal student. Her sats were great especially concidering her absence and health.
the reason I didn’t want hee in a large secondary school was because of her own anxiety and passiveness.

but now I’m worried I have made the wrong choice 🙈

Your worries are normal, IMO. It is a big change and a lot of uncertainty. Try not to overthink. You decided to go for SS for a reason. Those reasons still exist.

My eldest nt child went to mainstream secondary and it was an eye opener! He's fine now yr 9, but it definitely helped with our decision to secure specialist for our middle son, who is in an independent ss now. Thank god! I'm sure you've made the right decision op.
