I'll try and keep it short. But I'll probably fail.

DS2 has various additional needs. Just completed GCSE's with masses of SEND Team support.

He doesn't have friends. He struggles with his peers. But he and a group
of other Y11 became a close supportive group who were funny/kind/edgy.

They'd be found in the SEND area at lunchtimes. Other younger students in the SEND were drawn like magnets to them.

Yesterday DS2 was in school for to sort potential 6th form stuff out.

He went to SEND area at lunch time as its his safe place. 2 of the Y7 students were in.

One of the Y7 boys squealed with joy and leapt up to hug him and burst into happy tears. Another one who is very cool sat there grinning then went for a high five and slap on the back.

SEND team emailed to tell me, they deal with so much and said this made them grin all afternoon.

It's just nice to have a positive !

How wonderful! I bet you needed tissues. Moments like this mean the world don’t they. What a lovely SEN team too.
Thanks for sharing.

It’s lovely to hear of happy experiences. It’s hard for many parents of children with SEND, but what a wonderful success story and demonstration of the care that those staff have.
