Wandsworth Secondary ASD bases

We’re in Year 5 and need to start thinking about secondary quickly.. DS is ASD with an EHCP and is in a mainstream primary with a 1:1 for emotional regulation.

We have been told that the base at St John Bosco might be an option but there is also Ashcroft and Southfields which have bases as well. Can anyone share insights in to these schools? Thanks in advance!

I know someone who was happy with the resource base at St John Bosco. I can’t comment on the other two because don’t know parents who have DC in them. One thing to consider is they are still part of a mainstream secondary with everything that entails. Will DS cope with that? Especially if he struggles with emotional regulation. Some find it too overwhelming.

@perpetualplatespinning thank you that’s good to hear that they found it a good school.

Our feeling is smaller is probably going to work better which rules out Ashcroft anyway, I have looked round Southfields and liked their approach and they are very focused on maths which DS loves and hopefully John Bosco will reply to my emails and we can look round there too.

We also need look at Canbury which I’ve heard good things about but obviously private so LEA will be less keen…
