Academic progress & violence in independent special school

Perhaps my expectations are too high because we put ourselves in serious debt hiring a SEN solicitor and having private reports done but I would really appreciate some perspective.

My son is now in an independent special school and his academic progress seems to have completely stalled and worse, he has been repeatedly on the receiving end of two students' violent outbursts on numerous occasions. My son has now started to fight back and have outbursts of his own. Teachers say plans are in place to stop it happening but they keep increasing the class size without increasing staff or classroom space. Both of which my son finds overwhelming. Also the new students being added are the ones who are putting my son down and hurting him. My son doesn't want to go into school and this is getting worse

I know I should be grateful to have this school space at all but I don't feel what is happening is right? Does anyone have any experience of this and any advice?

Can you not move him to another school?

How long has DS been in the placement?
Does F include class sizes/ratios?
Have you requested an early review?
