Hi looking for advice please I was advised to apply for dla for my son but it was 4 months before his 16th birthday so i held off and waited until he turned 16 and applied for pip instead
He attends a Sen base school with a echp learning difficulties andhigh functioning anxiety and semh also speech difficulties , he will be attending collage but a smaller Sen class doing a multi skills course he won’t be completing GCSEs due to not been ready for them academically , has anyone been in a similar situation, also does anyone know how long claims are currently taking for 16 year olds or are all claims the same thanks

New PIP claims are dealt with the same regardless of age. The latest statistics show the clearance time of 14 weeks for new claims under the normal rules. Although some take longer.
