Does anyone have any experience of Gretton School in Cambridge?

My daughter (7 1/2) has autism. She is very bright, but also quite behind socially, and as she is getting older this is becoming more apparent.

I want her to go to a school where she can thrive academically, but also be understood for who she is (a big ask, I know!).

Would Gretton be good for this? We are willing to relocate for the right school.

It is a marmite school. Some love it, some hate it. It is also boy heavy. If DD is very academically able, depending on what you mean exactly by that, it may also not be able to meet her needs, especially in the longer term. I’m not sure I would relocate for it. Also, be aware, if you move LA, the new LA will review the EHCP and potentially amend, reassess or even propose to cease to maintain. You would have the right of appeal, but it is something you should be aware of.

Thank you. It is such a minefield!! She has what would have been as Asperger’s profile-very good at maths, English, computing etc (is doing work 1-2 years above her year group), but really struggling socially.
