Transferring from Wales (IDP) to England (EHCP)

Has anyone had any experience moving from Wales to England when your child has an IDP (Individual Development Plan)? We are thinking of moving from Wales to England to find an appropriate SEN school for our DS who has an IDP. The problem is a Welsh IDP does not automatically exchange to an EHCP in England. Has anyone done a move like this and how difficult was it to obtain an EHCP?

Not personally, but I have helped a few parents get EHCPs after moving from Wales. Some went smoothly. Some required them to appeal to SENDIST.
