Support following dyslexia diagnosis (Y11)

DD has just had a private diagnosis of dyslexia (she's about to start Y11).

She already gets 25% extra time in exams, so if I inform school of the dyslexic diagnosis, is there any other support we can expect from the school?

DD is high achieving and school only did the Exam Access Arrangement assessment because I had minor concerns.

Support in school is based on needs, not diagnosis, so whilst you should speak to the school, the school should already be making their best endeavours to meet DD’s SEN. What support are they already providing?

If DD needs further exam access arrangements, the school could look at rest breaks, word processor (with or without spell check enabled) &/or computer reader/reader, but they will depend on DD’s needs rather than just because she now has a dyslexia diagnosis.
