Can I appeal just one component of dla?

Hi everyone

I'd appreciate any help or advice you've got

Dd has been awarded dla - i'm happy with the high care rate but want to challenge the lower mobility rate as I feel it should be the higher, due to her smi

Is it possible to just appeal the mobility part of the decision or will they reassess the whole thing?

At the mandatory reconsideration stage, the whole award will be relooked at and it can go down as well as up or remaining the same. Going down isn’t rare. If a mandatory reconsideration itself isn’t successful and you appeal, in theory the award could decrease at Tribunal, but it is unlikely.
