My dd, who turned 5 this week is still non verbal. We have a GDD (global developmental delay) diagnosis and awaiting an autism assessment. We have seen a speech and language therapist 3 times so far due to the ridiculous waiting times! Has anyone been in this position and found anything that helped their little one with their speech? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Is DD at school? Does she have an EHCP?

She is due to start in the learning centre area of the school after the summer, we are in Scotland so schools have already finished. Yeah she has an education health care plan in place, we have regular meetings with nursery

Does DD’s CSP include SALT? It can include more than 3 appointments.

Yeah we are due to see our SLT on Tuesday to hopefully get started on another block. It takes so long!

Have you seen "the telepathy tapes'about non speaking autistic children. Excellent help and support for these amazing children who are far more intelligent than we think. Also watch "Spellers the movie " . These will definitely enlighten you and help your daughter.🙏🏼❤️🌹
