Hi everyone

I know most people will tell me to go to the GP straight away which i will, I'm waiting on the practice opening to call. However I wanted some advice.

DS is almost 9 and last Thursday he took a little bout of the flu, it started with a dry and sore throat which made him want to drink constantly to ease the feeling, but he's not stopped drinking even now he's feeling better. I mean at least 14/15 juice cups of water per day! He's also peeing lots which is a given with his fluid intake.
I did put it down to him feeling unwell but he's also done this before, albeit probably not as bad but bad enough that he's seen the GP twice before due to the same issue and diabetes ruled out each time. The GP did say that in children with Autism it can sometimes just be a habit which actually made sense. He's not anxious or anything.
Does anyone have any experience with their own children on the spectrum?

Not sure if it's worth mentioning but his urine is completely clear, translucent! It was also like this the last time he had gone to the GP for the same issue. That was around 3 months ago, urine was dipped but GP didn't do finger prick.

It could be a sensory issue following the sore throat.
