Help me dream …. Any recommendations of schools for ASD (Asperger’s type)

Hi

We have 3 ASD/ADHD diagnosed children who are struggling to access education, although not struggling academically. Our area is appalling for SEN provision and I dream of moving house and finding somewhere where my kids could flourish with lower anxiety. This is probably a very unrealistic dream but I wondered if there are any schools in the UK who MN parents might recommend y9 +?

Obvs it's complicated by EHCPs etc but our council are fighting so hard against all support I just want to run away....

Thanks

Not all will be suitable, but depending on DC’s needs you could look at Unsted Park in Surrey, More House in Surrey, West Kirby on the Wirral, Alderwasley hall in Derbyshire, Holmewood school in Barnet (and some of the other schools in the Cavendish group). If male, Breckenbrough in N. Yorkshire. If female, Limpsfield Grange in Surrey.

Some people like Gretton in Cambridgeshire (these are part of a group that is subsidiary to Cavendish Education), Swalcliffe Park School in Oxfordshire and Wemms in Surrey. But equally some don’t like them, they are marmite schools.

Have you considered EOTAS?

Be aware if you move LA’s the new LA will review the EHCP and potentially amend, reassess or even cease. You would be able to appeal, but it is a risk you need to be aware of.
