Transfer sen funding from ms to indie

has anyone done this? Got any tips for how to negotiate/get the LA to do this???

Full background: ASD daughter with an ehcp is currently in ms primary. School gets funding from the local authority (high needs funding) to provide her ehcp. We’re thinking of moving her to an indie prep/senior school who have agreed to take her.
whilst I don’t think her needs are significant enough to argue there’s no mainstream that meets her needs, we’d like to try and get her hnf transferred. Not sure how to do this??! Any help massively appreciated…

Some LAs will sometimes come to an arrangement like this. However, unless the school is named in the EHCP, the LA doesn't have to fund any part of it, and many will say you are making suitable alternative arrangements thereby relieving them of their duties. You would need to speak to your caseworker and request an early review.
