Hi all. Looking at SEN schools for the past year now, got appeal tribunal date in November so in a good place to request schools as state are all full! My son is currentlt year 4 in state with full support, got EHCP approved to change to specialist. World is our oyster I was told, as state are full but doenst feel that way! My son has good ability but not ready for very academic yet needs to get the speech, classroom ready behaviour, etc… sorted first. He has severe development dyspraxia of speech but it’s coming along (so not non verbal), he is also sensory ASD so not just one or the other, has to go somewhere they cater for both and bit of mix. Looking at Blossom House in Wimbledon, St Dominic’s, Manor Mead in Virginia water, fox grove Leatherhead and Chelsea hall. I have seen Moore house and More house and they are amazing but he is not ready for them. Any feedback on the above schools we are considering or any we have missed please? Thanks

Meath is a non-maintained special school, so being ‘full’ is not enough of a reason to refuse to name it if it is your preference. The LA has to prove the school is so full admitting DS is incompatible. Obviously there is a point when the LA can do this, but bar for this is higher than many LAs admit. So, if you did want Meath don’t let that put you off.
