DS is 3 in November and mostly non speaking, we ve been doing a lot since our initial concerns last year to work on joint attention which is getting better, we re not having any more portage involvement and it ll be 2024 before he's finally seen by community paeds and SLT for even the initial assessment so I was wanting to try using PECs cards ourselves since we have no involvement now except his nursery.

Has anyone worked on pecs cards with their child by themselves, if so where is the best place to start?

Start with simple stuff that happens a lot. Drink, snack, toilet, brush teeth etc and build up from there. It's about making associations, so a picture on the toilet and a picture they can access easily. Might be worth signing up to twinkl.co.uk as they have loads of resources and schools tend to use their stuff a lot.
