Hi. My dd is 13 and just about to start year 9. She is at an all girls private school and is struggling. Her behaviour isn’t great and she is not focussing which is showing in her academics. We are hoping to start medication soon but I feel the school have had enough of her. When I say bad behaviour it has got worse since diagnosis as she doesn’t feel the need to mask and is more disruptive and less focussed. She is not malicious though and I would say she is more annoying than bad. She is sporty and musical. She is very sociable and a people person so a small school may not work for her.

anyway, we are thinking a new start for GCSE might be good - perhaps Co-Ed is a better option for instance. We are happy with private or state, day or boarding. It’s really about trying to find the right environment for her to reach her potential and enjoy her childhood.

we are based in north London but are able to move anywhere within commuting distance of the centre

ive seen some lovely schools suggested for boys but struggling to find anything for girls

Are you looking for a specialist school or mainstream?

I think mainstream - I’m not sure she is severe enough for specialist although it seems to be getting more difficult
