Hi all does anyone have any good advice about how I can prepare for an EP meeting we’re having at school ahead of applying for an EHCP for my son? He’s mid assessment for adhd (and definitely has it!!) with camhs and is also dyslexic and spends a lot of time getting into trouble at school. Getting sent out a lot etc but he’s doing ok academically but has moved from greater depth to meeting standards… we’ll be applying for secondary in September. He’s also experienced a LOT of trauma in last couple of years as he witnessed his dad having a cardiac arrest 😢

It can help to make notes about DS’s history (I also find a making a timeline helpful) and things like DS’s strengths/difficulties, likes/dislikes, aspirations, what provision is already in place, what has previously been tried, what you think DS needs etc. It can also help if you have a list of professionals DS has seen and any diagnoses.

As an aside, I wouldn’t wait for the EP assessment before requesting an EHCNA. You can do it now, on their website IPSEA have a model letter you can use.
