EHCP annual review - what happens?

DS is in year 7 and his EHCP was finalised in April last year. I assume the school will arrange an annual review meeting soon? Can things be added to an EHC plan? If for example we wanted some dyslexia specific teaching to take place? DS is in a mainstream school. I don't know what to expect or what questions to ask?

Yes, the EHCP can be amended. Do you have evidence for the specialist dyslexia teaching?

You can request anything you want as long as you have evidence. We ended up putting 1:1 Level 5 dyslexia teacher 60mins per week. Same with maths. However to get something so specific we needed to appeal.
