Cerebral Palsy and speech therapy

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of Cerebral Palsy and speech therapy? Just wondering how much of an improvement in speech we might expect to see with speech therapy, or how much will be ”just the way he is”? We’ve been turned down for speech therapy as he has a good use of language and can make the correct sounds when prompted, but tends to revert to indistinct sounds when linking words. He can make himself understood, but he does sound different/younger, and he hates being different. We’d be prepared to go private (if we can find someone!) but it’s more about focussing his efforts on what will have the biggest impact on his well-being as he already has daily physio and lots of appointments. Thanks!
