I'm currently shortlisting primary schools for my DS, 4, who is autistic and pre-verbal. We are compiling an EHCP but I doubt it'll be final by the January schools application deadline.
Does anyone have any experience of Hampstead (or surrounding areas) schools and autistic kids? There are some schools with specific provision (Primrose Hill, Torriano, Kentish Town CofE) which I'm seeing soon, but my son may also be able to cope in a mainstream (though, frankly, I have no idea and feel totally daunted about the whole business). We've also applied to three private schools too, and await meetings with the SENCOs, but I don't expect them to be keen on us.
