Hi, my DD who is 2.7 has language delay and health visitor etc are currently going down the route of autism diagnosis.. she has some speech but doesn’t listen to instructions etc..
at the minute she is still in her cot but she will be starting school in January and I would like her to be in a bed by then, also she is not toilet trained, she will wee when I take her to the toilet (doesn’t like the potty 🙃) but is unable to tell me when she needs to go so it results in a lot of accidents.. has anyone with children with language delays got any advice on the bed transition and potty training?

also need to add that she doesn’t go to bed at bedtime she will only fall asleep on one of us (separation anxiety issues 🫣) and we carry her up then but once she’s in her cot she will stay there all night
thankyou

Have you tried using signing for communication?
(I won't be much help, DD wasn't out of nappies until 3 and a half (motor skills & speech delay)

Have you tried DD falling asleep on you in the bedroom and then transitioning to bed? Then once DD is comfortable with that and you have transitioned to a bed, lying in bed with her. Then further steps when appropriate.

Is DD receiving any SALT?
