Opinions on Calder House school/Appleford school

I have been having so many issues with my sons school, he is in year 4 and I have been battling with the school as he struggles with everything, I have paid for a EP report to be done and its showing he should be above average on everything but currently is below average on everything.
We think he has dyslexia and dypraxia and the school will not entertain as they said the local council do not recognise dyslexia and that even if we has a diagnosis they couldn't do anymore for our son.
I have been trying to get the school to do an ehcp for the last 2 and half years and they just keep saying they do not have enough evidence and keep dragging their heels.
I have found Calder house school and appleford scholl in the possibility of changing school.
My question is has anyone got any opinions, experience on either schools?

You can apply for an EHCNA yourself, you don’t need to wait for the school to. IPSEA have a model letter you can use.

You don’t need a diagnosis for the school to provide support. They should make their best endeavours to meet a child’s SEN regardless of diagnosis or not.

LAs cannot refuse to recognise dyslexia. Even if they didn’t SENDIST would if you appealed.

Have you asked for a referral to an OT? In some areas you can self refer.

Did the EP not assess for dyslexia?

EP didn't assess for dyslexia.

I know I can apply myself for Ehcp and in talks with sandiass already.

We have just got an education solicitor on the case now. I am sick to death of playing the waiting game and so mad that a boy has been left to struggle so much, its absolutely outrages and I cannot believe schools and LA get away with it, they should all be ashamed of themselves.
I am sick to death of listening to all the excuses and let's try this and wait another term just so they can waste a bit more time.

To be honest even with the Ehcp in place I just don't think the school can meet his needs and I don't particularly want to waste any more time and I have just about had enough of the school and the LA playing time games when there is an 8 year old boy in the middle and everyday is lost we are losing him.
The school would never get the full potential out of him hence why I have started looking at specialist private schools.
Hence my thread asking for opinions on the above schools.

Be careful with SENDIASS. Some are good, but too many repeat the LA’s unlawful policies. IPSEA and SOSSEN are better.

A good EP assessment should have covered dyslexia.
