Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) Experience- Research Project (Please read carefully before responding)

Who can contribute?

I am a Psychology Masters student from the University of Northampton conducting research into the EHCP process. I am searching for parents/carers in the UK who have undergone the process of gaining an EHCP for their child/children. This study initially aims to gain an understanding into how parents/carers feel it would be best to present information on their experiences, from a parent/carer perspective in this process.

Examples or possible ideas include:

· A video recording

· Photographs and discussion

· Interview

· Acting out experiences

These are only a guide and I welcome any relevant ways that you think would be best to collect the experiences of your family in going through the EHCP process.

Benefits of this research

My project explores the EHCP process and the experiences that parents go through during this process.

As part of this study, at a later date, there will be an invitation posted below this thread offering you to contribute to the study anonymously. Please note that findings of experiences researched may be shared anonymously with a variety of professional bodies often involved in the EHCP process, in order to identify the different external perspectives of experience of the EHCP process.

This study is voluntary. If you would like to share your thoughts, please post in the thread below about how you think would be best to explain a parent/carer experience of going through the EHCP process. In responding to this post, you are consenting to your views being included in the research. Alternatively, if you would like to email your ideas, please send your response to [email protected]

Please be aware that any information given may be used to help form the structure of the study, any user profile information will not be included in the study and current GDPR legislation and guidance will be adhered to. Participation is optional, and all responses will be confidential and anonymised in the research write-up. Participants can choose to withdraw any of their comments from the study up to 15th May 2022 by deleting their comment or emailing using the above email address and these comments will not be used in the study.

Thank you for your time.
