DS has been on the waiting list for paediatric services since early in year 2 and is in year 5 now. The GPs say it could be another year or two 
So now I'm trying to go private. We've got an ed psych report and an OT report but we have to get the OT signed off by a paediatrician.
We contacted someone and there seemed to be a massive misunderstanding as she thought we wanted him diagnosed with autism and quoted a 10 month waiting time (and over £3k fee) He may well be autistic but that really is another issue really.
Please can anyone recommend someone - central London, West Midlands, Liverpool or even Devon would work for us as we can stay with family. West Midlands is where we live so would be easiest. I feel utterly terrible for leaving it so long but I kept thinking (kidding myself) that the NHS would come through and the GPs kept assuring me it wouldn't be long
I know it will cost a lot to do - the first 2 reports weren't cheap and I know a paediatrician will cost even more - its not so much the money now, it's the time.
Any recommendations please? I really do want to sort this out before he starts secondary school.
Please don't have a go at me for leaving it so long - I'm angry enough with myself as it is :(
