Sorry to start a new thread but I have a specific question re this. Has anyone had this problem with methylphenidate/concerta/elvanse and did you end up having to add another med in to counteract an increase in heart rate? DD seems to have a fairly high resting heart rate anyway so it doesn't give us much room for manoeuvre and so far we haven't managed to get on a decent dose of meds. Moved from fast acting methylphenidate to Elvanse (just moved up to 30mg) - no side effects that she can feel but again her heart rate is going up and so this may stop us getting to an effective dose. I know that propranolol is sometimes used and also Intuniv (guanfacin). The idea of yet more meds to deal with a side effect really doesn't sit well with me but she is in gcse year and is really going to struggle if nothing works. Or does it sometimes settle down over time? thanks
