Dyslexia screening for secondary age

Wasn’t sure whether to post this here or in secondary school.
I suspect my DC 12 may have dyslexia, parents evening is coming up next week and I am going to bring it up with the teacher but I wondered how quickly and easily screening tests are done in your experience?

I'm a SENCO and they're pretty easy to administer and I get the results immediately. My team are pretty busy currently because of all the internal exams that need invigilating but i normally turn it round in a couple of weeks. Just remember that the screening isn't a diagnosis but a probability or indicator. It is a starting point definitely but they're not always hugely accurate unfortunately.

Our school refused to screen. My dd was on track to get 5 grade 5’s, so senco wasnt going to spend money on her.
I had her diagnosed through local dyslexia assoc.
sEN is woefully underfunded.
Hope your school is better than ours.

Agree with catwoman. What do you hope to gain from a screening - would you pay for a private assessment?

Some local Dyslexia associations will screen kids too
