How do I find a child psychiatrist for adhd assessment?

My 8yo DD is showing all the classics adhd signs. School on board. GP has made CAMHS referral. They called me today, 13 week wait for initial assessment and then 18-24 month wait to full assessment. She is actively distressed by her inability to control her body on many days and it seems absolutely exhausting being her.

I’m therefore happy to go private but I have no idea how to find a lovely kind child psychiatrist who won’t freak her out or render her too nervous to engage. I understand it’s expensive and I know there are issues around getting her back into the nhs after. Does anyone have any recommendations in the London area?

I'm currently going through the process of having an assessment done with Harley psychiatrists. They are assessing my dd for ASD and ADHD. I've had my parent consultation which was done over Skype. The Dr was very Thorough with asking questions and seems extremely knowledgeable. My dd has her assessment tomorrow morning over Skype with the dr.
I first rang Harley Psychiatrists about 6 weeks ago so there isn't to much waiting and for my consultation, dd assessment and a follow up summary appointment plus (hopefully) diagnosis paperwork it's costing me £1090. I hope this helps x

Try Dr Giaroli and Partners on Harley at.recently saw Dr Campos there who we liked.
We then got into the NHS (was told it was an 18 nth wait list but were seen in 3 months in the end!!).

We used Dr Lucy Brown Wright — ed psychologist. Psychiatrist can also do it.
