Speech and language assessment by phone

My DD5 has a Speech and Language assessment over the phone coming up and I'm just wondering how this is going to work if anyone has had recent experience?

We noticed during the first lock down DD would get stuck and repeat the end of words, like a stammer but in reverse.
As she was Reception she went back to school in June and I mentioned it to her teacher, she said she was going to talk to us if we had reached parents evening the week after lock down started, as there were a few things she'd noticed and wanted to discuss a referral.

Obviously with everything last year non urgent services were put on hold and they are now getting through to first assessments.

But I just don't know how that will work out over the phone, like a lot of children DD goes quite and very single word answers over the phone even with family.

I think the Speech Therapist will mainly talk to you and ask you questions about your child's speech development and what her current language skills are..... What she understands, what language she uses etc... so please don't worry about your child's performance. Sometimes they might then use a video session for foliow up sessions.
