Best way to get an ADHD assessment for DS

DS is really struggling with online learning, difficulty concentrating and can't focus for long without jumping about. Have researched ADD and pretty sure that's what it is. He's already dx with dyslexia. What is the best way to get him assessed? My DD has ASD and it took a lot of pushing and about a year of jumping through hoops with CAMHS to get her diagnosed. Any advise/ dos and don'ts? He is 12 and we are in London.

We had a similar situation and went private in the end. Wasn't cheap but worth it! Numerous visits to GP, found CAMHS useless to be honest.

Is it also through CAMHS for an ADHD assessment then? That puts me off as they were useless for DD.

Yes it was CAHMS that assessed DS for ADHD
Took nearly 2 years on the waiting list after school referred him then “here’s a prescription”. Useless.

oh dear. So who do you go to for a private assessment, is it a child psychologist or a paediatrician? How do you find the right person?

We used Georgie Siggers at Starjumpz. She is fantastic. They are in Crowborough East Sussex but do online stuff at the moment.
