One of my DC struggles in school and they have recently had a GL assessment - Dyslexia portfolio screening.
It has flagged up some areas of strengths and weakness.
The result on ipsative score says areas are between -1.4 (spelling) to +1.8 (forward digit recall) everything else is somewhere inbetween.
In the 13 categories that were assessed they are below the 50th national percentile in 8 of them. Worst being the 7th percentile.
School have been helpful, but they say it is up to me if I want to pay for a private assessment which will cost £300.
Obviously I cant do one at the moment.
Can anyone recommend whether this is worth taking further and having a formal assessment done?
I'm happy to do it, but I dont want to spend £300 if its unnecessary!
