Safeguarding issues with school transport in Essex

Has anybody else experienced safeguarding issues with taxi company 24x7 group in Essex? My autistic son was locked in a taxi against his will while the driver went to the toilet. The driver didn't even bother to phone the call-centre before leaving the children locked and left unattended. On two other occasions the call-centre programmed the wrong route into the system which took the children on an additional 30 mile drive leaving them over an hour late for school while nobody knew where they were. I went through the formal complaints process but the chief-exec of ECC, Gavin Smith, claimed that these were not safeguarding issues!? See www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/local/clacton/18812005.tendring-driver-locked-children-autism-taxi-getting-caught-short/ and twitter.com/JohnSmi89550225/status/1330193463950913537?s=20.

I haven’t had any dealings with this company but I would feel very uneasy about this. Have you reported to the school? They should be able to advise on safeguarding protocol and who to contact.
