Levels of LSA - getting a higher level of LSA

Hello

My son currently has an EHCP giving 1:1 LSA support. He is in the upper levels of primary school.

He has had LSA support for about 18 months - but no one with particular expertise (he has a trauma background).

My EP and I think that if he had a more skilled LSA that he might be better able to access the curriculum as they sit and watch rather than actively help him manage his emotions.

Has anyone successfully got the LA to fund this? I feel as if I am in last chance saloon....

Thanks

The LA have to fund what is in section F. If section F states the LSA has to have certain qualifications then that's what will be funded. You may have to go to tribunal to get it in the EHCP, but if you have evidence you are likely to succeed.

I have 2 DS' with EHCPs, both have it detailed what qualifications the people they receive support/therapy from will have.
