Son with ehcp going back to school

Hello, as my Ds1 has been off school since march, he has an ehcp which most of you know it means 1-1 learning, his dad is not to keen on the 1-1 because of the 2 meter distance rule, he feels that it doesn't make sense if the two meter distance rule is in place, how is his 1-1 meant to work with DS. I don't know
With me I feel the AT can work with him without being 2 metres away from him but DP feels the school won't listen to him. This is all confusing.
How do you guys feel about your child with ehcp going back and having to work 2 metres away from their 1-1 or does this not apply?

The guidance states staff working with pupils with SEND don't have to maintain 2m distance where closer contact is necessary.

As a side note, an EHCP doesn't automatically equal 1:1.

Thank you for that, and with my sons ehcp I does get 1-1, he's had it since before lockdown, if he has no 1-1 he basically runs riot around the class room but thank you for your response that was really helpful

I meant he's had an ehcp since before lockdown, he's been getting 1-1 since reception, he'll be in year 2 in September

I was just pointing out where you said "he has an ehcp which most of you know it means 1-1 learning" isn't necessarily the case. It depends on the specifics of each individuals EHCP.

Oooh ok fair enough.
