It will help others to know a bit more information. Are you looking for a mainstream or special school? Does DS have an EHCP?

If he is academic then definitely look at The Perse in Cambridge.

I would very highly recommend St George's in Birmingham. They have a lot of SN students and they go the extra mile in making sure SN students do not fall behind other students. I am now retired but taught there for several years and I can tell you I taught many SN children who had so much support they frequently came out with 7 or 8 good GCSES. Dyslexic children got extra English in very small groups in registration time. They take a lot of autistic children and all staff are trained by National Autistic Society. Classes are small often 14. Sixth Form is excellent and students study a very wide range of A levels, BTECS and can resit any GCSE to improve grades. They very much focus on individuals and how every child matters and can have a personal learning mentor. They get good grades. Go for Open Day.
