Can you get a Direct payment for therapies in EHCP??

Does anyone have any experience of an EHCP personal budget with a Direct Payment for therapies/education? If so, were you able to choose your own therapists? Do Local Authorities provide the going rate for therapies? Has the Personal Budget been subject to spending cuts?

You can apply for a personal budget to cover these, provided that they are included in section F of the EHCP. The amount offered should cover whatever it costs, but in practical terms the LA can offer less if they can show that the therapy is available for a lower price. For some parents, it's worth their while to top it up.
