My son qualifies for extra time in exams at the moment, having been found to have a low visual and working memory processing speed. We have entered him for some private school entrance exams (11+) and some schools are coming back to advise that he will have extra time in some of their exams but not others. Specifically it is the reasoning tests he won't get extra time for. Does anyone know why this is? I assume it is a usual policy rather than one applied just to him as the Ed Psych mentioned in her report that he would find non verbal reasoning more difficult owing to his visual processing problems. His own school have been giving him extra time for reasoning tests done at school.
