My son is now on SEN support (or something like that) at school. There are lots of meetings where they tell me its all really terrible but they've done what they can but its not working. (Autism related)

but the things is I am not really sure what I can ask for? . I see other children have 1 to 1s or go off to other providers for parts of the day, but how does this sort of thing come about?

Is it all on me to find things that would help and just keep lobbying it.

Have they taken advice from speech and language services and an educational psychologist?

If the school is saying it has tried everything and your son isn not making progress, he may well qualify for an EHCP. If the LA agrees, it would have to arrange up to date assessments which should result in advice on precisely what your son needs.

They haven't had any advice from outside. So that's a helpful hint of things I can ask for.
