Yr 5 Ds struggling- noonans and dyspraxia

Hi. ds2 has noonans syndrome and has recently been diagnosed with dyspraxia. The senco also thinks he may have dysgraphia. He is really struggling with processing information and this seems to be getting worse. He becomes very frustrated and can't cope with more than one simple step at a time. At home he gets angry but at school he is very quiet and I know he won't ask for things to be repeated.

I am seeing his SENCO this week and am wondering what I should be asking for. He currently uses a laptop and clicker 7 to help in writing, but I am so worried about his processing and general understanding. I don't know how much his noonans impacts this- he is mildly affected but maybe we have underestimated its impact.

I am rambling, but just wondered what help I can expect from school and what I should be asking for when I go in this week.
Thank you

You really need to suggest a full assessment by an educational psychologist, an occupational therapist and others so that you can get professional advice on what he needs. Ask if she will support an application for an EHC needs assessment.

He has seen an OH , she started the process of diagnosing with dyspraxia. he has had a few sessions with her and we had 6 group sessions at the end of last term. I don't know if he will meet the threshold for an EHCP. I have asked about an ed psych before and they said I would have to fund it - can they do this ? I will fund if needed, but shouldn't they really be meeting the cost ?
