Hello I'm brand new so forgive me if this isn't in the right section. I'm becoming more and more worried about my Toddler son who will be 17 months next week.

It's just since the 18 month check is looming that I have realised he is behind...

He can

Walk
Crawl
Climb
Understand and comply with No! Danger!
Will respond to his name but not all the time
Will sometimes pretend to brush my hair or if he sees me drinking my tea will come and help to give me the drink
Is very smiley
Engages and enjoys things like peek a boo ( will hide under his blacnket and remove from his face when I ask where is my baby?

Plays with his brother who is 10, will respond in smiles and show excitement

Will return social smiles 99/100 times
Keeps eye contact when I'm changing him or singing songs like row row your boat etc

Says mummy daddy nah baby ball oh dear but not consistently

Is making plenty of noises and babbles on top of this

He doesn't

Wave
Point ( will point to pictures in books or use his finger to point on a toy )

Doesn't understand simple
Command but if I say where is the cat? He will look at my face show recognition in his face and then look for the cat purposely ... if I say where is your brother it's the same response

He grinds his teeth
He like to spin car wheels but not a lot for example will pick up the car spin the wheel and move on

If I say look! He will mostly turn to see what I am saying

If I point he doesn't seem to follow my point and will mostly just look at my face

He is very shy around people he doesn't know... will hide his face ...

I'm consumed with the thought that he must have autism... and I'm
Drowning in that fear. I took the Mchat test which they would give to him in about 6-8 weeks and he fails it.

I have called and left a message for my health visitor but could I be wrong
