PEP Meeting - What to Expect ??

I'm not really sure where to put this, but I'm expecting that as it related to DD being medically unfit for school & currently has EOTAS tutors teaching her at home, that others on this board may have some experience of this ??

We've all been invited into the school for this meeting, I think it stands for Personal Education Plan ??

DD who is 13/yr8 is panicking as bar one day, she hasn't been into school for almost a year. She is currently in a wheelchair after a minor accident badly injured her hip, she is diagnosed HEDS & suffers with severe anxiety, SPD & more, all making school more than she can cope with. She's very bright & very ambitious, so she panics easily with anything school related

Any tips on what to expect would be great

Don't have experience of PEP meeting but wondered if you have asked for an EHCP? I would have thought an EHCP would be needed when thinking of dd's education long term. Maybe you could raise this at the meeting?

A PEP meeting is an education based meeting held 6 monthly for children who are in local authority care. The PEP is arranged by the child's social worker. Maybe the school has mistakingly used the word PEP instead of EHCP?

Not about being in care or EHCP in our schools. It stands for personal education pan and is a meeting with child, parents, school and any other involved parties. If the school is helpful and wants to work with you it's great as you make plans for the education of your child. It shouldn't be about pressurising a sick child, rather it is to make sure things are working, to review what's been happening and to plan for the next few weeks or months.

Hopefully, if you've had your meeting, all went well.

I am a foster carer and we have a PEP every 6 months.
It is attended by child's social worker, myself and head of safeguarding.
We discuss plans for the child.
What's going well and what's not.
Child is required to fill in a form about their likes/dislikes. How they feel etc.
we also discuss how funding is spent.
EHCP from what I understand is a legal document and details what the child needs to enable them reach their full potential.
