I spoke to the school SENCO this afternoon about my growing concerns with ds. He's almost 10. In the last few weeks he's developed two new fears, the wind and the rain. He cries and says he wants to go home if its windy or there is a cloud in the sky. This is not great considering the current weather Sad. He's already scared to go upstairs alone, and now even if there is someone but they are asleep. He's frightened of the sea, paddling pools and swimming. He has a tendency to get really frustrated and angry when things don't go is way. So today she agreed to refer him. What can I expect? What will they want to know? I've never had any dealings with anyone except OT and SENCO so a bit clueless as to how this progresses's.
He's not statemented but I've been told they think he's Dyspraxic with a lack of propriaception. He can't ride a bike, swim, deal with buttons and had just recently managed to use a scooter for the first time. Can anyone clue me in how they may be able to help?
