Does anyone know what he would be diagnosed with today?

I have always wondered about my brother :)

My brother has special needs.

I have written it that way as nobody in my family really knows what he has, is called.

During a c-section birth in 1987 ,my Dad suspects (as he was there) that he was deprived of oxygen.

By the time he was 2, my step Mum felt there was some problems.

Educationally he has always attended a non mainstream school ,and managed to get wonderful vocational qualifications.

So, he has always had something as I imagine he would have to have a statement to attend.
at 24 ,he is more like a 18 year old.
He is unable to tell the time properly
He is unable to read beyond books for 5 yr olds.
and when he speaks he misses out some of the sounds.

At 6ft4 and 150 pounds he is very tall and thin.

At 13 he developed epilepsy ,although that has now stopped. :)

My Dad has always claimed he has a bit of everything that would indicate he has s/needs, But he has said the most infuriating thing is that he still can't say what he has... My Dad seems to just want a name iyswim?

We all adore him so much, all these things just make up our beloved brother.

Just wonder what he would be diagnosed with if my parents had wondered and looked in to it more years ago.

I am not sure if any of what I have listed even really helps? just wanted to see if anyone could help?

Lack of oxygen at birth can cause a whole range of special needs - physical, cognitive and sensory to a greater or lesser extent.
Your brother could also have tests to rule out any genetic conditions
An MRI scan or other brain scan can indicate areas of brain damage but sometimes damage to the brain doesn't always show up.
The epilepsy can also indicate there was brain damage.
You could ask your GP for a specialist referal for assessment
It sounds as if your lovely brother has a very caring family
